Google has given ReddingSEO.com a PR of 1. Woot! Well, ok
that's not much but PR really has to do with incoming links -
so they say. I have an additional thought...
I have another website for pond lovers, called, EZ
Pond Ideas. Now
this site has been given a PR of 2. Which is not just one
more in rank, it carries more than double the importance for
Google. Too technical to get into but it's way better.
Now then, what did I do differently?
I actually did just about the same amount of work as far as
article submissions. The only thing I did differently is I have
been adding articles every week to this site. At a rate of
about 2 to 3 articles per week.
You'll find it ranking quite well for search terms like,
pond ideas (4th), koi pond club (between 1 and 7), and a few
other pond related search terms.
What I have done differently is I've been able to have my
link added to more blogs than ReddingSEO.com and since it's
been growing steadily over time, I think that's also gained
some attention from Google as a nice and active site.
In conclusion you need to understand that your site ranking
well for any search term is a matter of putting together a
little recipe of search engine optimization techniques. A
really great recipe is too involved, but here are a few really
good ingredients for you to consider:
1. Your information needs to be highly related to your
theme. So, if you have a site like my pond site, the content
within the site needs to be about ponds, not cars.
2. You will need to have other sites linking back to your
site. One way links are given more authority than
swapping links.
3. A site that has content that is constantly being updated
is considered worthy of visiting often and if that content is
of good quality, over time it will help in to increase your
PR.
Lots of other ingredients and that is why someone like
me is here to help. With patience and consistency you can
gain good free traffic from many of the great search engines
like Google.
