How to Build
PageRank in Google
Before I talk about what it is I've done to build PR on my
sites, I'd like to mention that Google doesn't really tell you
how to do this per say. There are things you can do and they
are quite easy, but they take time and consistency. These are
the things that I will talk about here.
For my site here, ReddingSEO.com I have paid very little
attention to it after the first initial work in building it and
submitting a few articles to a couple of article directories.
Let's talk about this site first.
I had a very simple goal for this site. All I wanted to do
was get it listed on the first page for two keyword terms:
Redding search engine optimization
Redding SEO
Redding SEO was listed on the first page instantly. That is
probably due to the domain name, the title of the site, and the
highly related content. In addition, I posted my site in
Google's local business listings. So all of those things
helped to get that search term listed high on the page.
The other search term was hard to rank on the first page. In
fact, this search terms fluctuates between the 7th and
16th position. And the reason why is because I do not work at
it.
You're thinking, "Chrisi, why?" Well, I'm really too busy to
worry about it and I'm very busy so the reality is, I don't
need to worry about it. However, it's also given me the
opportunity's to make some comparisons.
Oh, wait, did I forget to mention that I have a listing on
the first page at the very top sitting in the number one spot?
It's true, go to Google and type in Redding search engine optimization. Now as of
today, April 18, 2009, you'll find an article I wrote called,
"A Profitable Internet Solution to Today's Economic Crunch"
written by me, Christine Darrington. I prefer, Chrisi, but
when I write articles I mostly include my full name. Anyway,
that was very easy for me to get my link right there at the
top.
A. Because I have an "expert author" status, I get my
articles promoted easily.
B. The article was viewed about 53 times. Not much but
enough.
Okay, now then, let's look at the page rank.
