Getting
Listed in Google
Fast
While I'm building up my clientele I am working on adding
new websites to Google's directory. This new site is called,
"Reverse Mortgage Pros Cons". My goal is to get listed in a
week. This site, ReddingSEO.com was listed in Google in 6 days.
I expect this new site to obtain a listing within the same
amount of time.
As always, I only use techniques that are Google approved.
While getting listed in Google fast is nice,
getting properly listed in Google is even better. The only way
to get listed in Google properly, is to build your site with
the right SEO in the design.
Before I continue I'll tell
you how I am always getting listed in Google fast.
1. I create a Google friendly site. Proper structure, good
content, and all the behind the scenes SEO that Google
loves.
2. Add the site map to Google.
3. Submit an article that introduces my site.
And... that will do it. Well, almost. That will do it
everytime if you have designed your site well.
One of the first things to consider when you create a new
site is how it is put together. Good SEO is more than good
navigation and a nice color scheme. Good quality information is
vital to your success of course, but it's also important how
you place that information.
Placement of information is what helps search engines like
Google understand what your site is about. Relevance is what
Google is looking for.
Relevance to what? To the keywords people are basing their
searches on. Today a lot of people are relying on search
engines like Google to locate what they are seeking through the
use of keywords.
So, you need to structure your information on your website
in a way that helps Google understand what the content is. Most
often this is accomplished by writing quality content.
Oh, sure there are plenty of other things you need to do. A
good xml site map, good navigation and well, other good site
SEO. These things are all very important and something that any
good web designer should know and include in their design.
However, I have to say that I am continually surprised at
how poorly some web design companies are at SEO.
Example of bad SEO:
One company that I visited had well over 20 websites in
their portfolio. Over and over again I saw this one mistake
that could cost the business owners huge losses in traffic.
One day I did a little research on this site that sells a
specific type of toy. I did some research and discovered that
the competition for this type of toy was very low. In fact,
with a little bit of SEO applied to their website, they could
be listed on the first page in Google where well over 3000
searches are conducted every month.
Just one extra sell a month for this particular toy could
bring in thousands of dollars a year to this company. If they
had a listing on that page where the keywords described exactly
what they sell, they would most likely squire new monthly sales
every month due to Internet search engine traffic.
What is the one mistake that could make the difference
between a successful listing and no listing at all?
This is something revealed only to my clients. Feel free to
set up an appointment to discuss how your site can obtain more
search engine traffic through better SEO on your site.
Remember, you can get listed in Google fast using the three
steps I gave you in the beginning of this article. However, if
you sell widgets and Google lists your site under gidgets, stop
