Social Networking
Explained
Social networking online is a lot like socially networking
offline. It's all about spreading the word... which in this
case, is the Internet news of any given subject.
You may have heard of places like Myspace and Facebook.
These are social networks. People establish their own little
"room" where they gather all their important thoughts and ideas
in order to share them with others.
Social networks can be very helpful in getting your business
more attention. It works a lot like it does offline. If you
find a business service that you like, you tend to share that
experience with your friends and family, even business
associates. The same thing happens in social networks
online.
The social networks online are like the synapses of our
brains. Without the electrical connections going on inside our
brains, our thoughts and our abilities to accomplish even
simple tasks would fall apart. Social networks are very helpful
in that they can provide connections from one place to another
and bridge the gaps.
Social networks bridge the gaps between many different
avenues that would otherwise be unavailable to us.
If you have something you want shared online, try joining a
social network and sharing your valued information with others
who have similar interests. The word can spread very
quickly once it gets going.
Word of caution... social networks can also be a place where
bad things happen. Most often things are spread through dark
corners and places that most people never venture. However,
sometimes hackers break in and plant viruses. Social networks
are susceptible to these types of attacks just like any other
place online.
The best rule of thumb is to never download anything you are
not completely sure is from a trustworthy source. Stay away
from offers to provide you with illegally free downloads
or areas that give you that gut feeling are bad.
And... if you don't have any type of adware/spyware/virus
protection on your PC, get it - today.
